Students on half term to enjoy trampoline event
23/10/2009 Pupils enjoying a half term break this week have been treated to a trampoline event by their local council.
Horse riding, trampolines and kite sports were among a host of activities arranged by Charnwood Borough Council for youngsters on their holiday from school.
The event, which ran from October 19th to the 23rd, was designed for over 16s and has proved very popular in previous years and this year proved no different.
As part of a Holiday Activity Programme, the council took youngsters on a trip to Megazone during the week.
Youngsters were also tested on their survival skills through activities at Beaumanor Hall.
To get pupils active during the holidays, the council organised a free Fun in the Park event at Loughborough's Jubilee Park on Wednesday (October 21st) where Leicestershire County Council's Impact Team organised various activities for youngsters to try.
Trampoline coach for British Gymnastics Anne-Sonia King recently said: "I would definitely recommend trampolining as it increases strength and fitness of the muscles."
