Students take to trampoline to raise cash for charity
07/10/2009 A trampoline recently formed an important part of a drive to raise cash for charity as University of Nebraska students jumped for 48 hours as part of a Bounce-a-Thon.
Members of the university's Lambda Chi Alpha chapter were behind the event which kicked off on Sunday night at 20:00 local time and saw at least one member bouncing on the trampoline at all times over the period while their friends collected cash, reports the Omaha World Herald.
Some participants even slept outdoors and bounced through a rainstorm as part of the challenge which is raising funds for the Food Bank.
"As long as it's helping the people who really need it, that's the important part," Nicholas Schaefer, the chapter's philanthropy chair, told the news provider.
The group aims to collect $1,500 (£944).
Around 300 trampoline enthusiasts in Brisbane recently bounced on their mini trampolines simultaneous in a bid to raise cash for the Asthma Foundation of Queensland and break a world record, the Brisbane Times reports.
