Trampoline 'helped toddler with autism'
15/06/2010 Buying a trampoline helped one family interact with their toddler who has the learning disability autism.
Writing for Autisable, the anonymous blogger said that from a young age their daughter has starting to show the signs of autism, which include a lack of eye contact, a dislike of being touched and the inability to interact with others.
After reading about the benefits of trampolines for children with autism, the blogger purchased a trampoline for their daughter and very quickly started seeing an improvement in her symptoms.
"Within days we started to reap the benefits. We started receiving eye contact, smiles, recognition of people (especially daddy), and many other things," the blogger explained.
There are currently over 500,000 people in the UK dealing with autism, which affects how they communicate and view the world around them.
