Trampoline 'keeps you fit and healthy'
16/09/2009 A trampoline coach has been extolling the benefits of using a trampoline.
Trampoline coach for British Gymnastics Anne-Sonia King, who also runs a trampolining academy, has been speaking about the exercise following new research that found the popularity of trampolines is increasing, reports the Press Association.
Research by Tesco Direct found that sales of both full-size trampolines and trampettes have seen an increase of 70 per cent year-on-year.
Ms King said that by using the trampoline people were reducing their cholesterol and staying fit and healthy.
She told the news provider: "Classes at my academy are getting more and more popular - it's definitely a rising trend."
Madonna and actress Gwyneth Paltrow have reportedly included aerobics on trampettes as part of their exercise regimes, which has helped boost sales.
A study performed by Nasa found that a workout on a trampoline is 68 per cent more efficient and effective than jogging and a ten-minute trampoline session gives the same benefits as a 30-minute jog.
