Trampoline athlete believes Olympics will inspire youngsters
25/03/2010 The 2012 Olympics will help inspire more children to take up a sport, according to one trampoline athlete.
Laura Gallagher told the Independent that the London games would help inspire both athletes and children to get involved.
"It's not about the winning but being part of it and the Olympic Games is really spectator-friendly", she added.
Gallagher has been training on the trampoline since she was 12 years old and has competed in both national and international events.
She is currently in the running to win a trip of a lifetime to train in Canada through the British Airways Great Britons competition. Members of the public are being to encouraged to vote for her in a poll on the airline's website.
She told the newspaper that she likes "the challenge and the fight" of trampoline exercise, as well as how much she has learnt about herself.
"I like the adrenaline of learning new moves and the rush you get during a competition," she added.
