Trampoline athletes urged to join Facebook group
01/03/2010 Trampoline athletes have been provided with a new resource to help keep track of developments within their sport.
British Gymnastics has announced the launch of their new Facebook page and is urging all members to become a fan and follow them on the social networking site.
According to the organisation, the decision was taken to launch the page "following the success of the 2009 World Artistic Gymnastics Facebook fans page".
Those who choose to follow British Gymnastics will be updated on "latest news, gossip, photos and discussions" and will be helping to support the national community of gymnasts, including those who compete in trampoline disciplines.
At the time of publication, the page already had almost 3,000 fans and members were discussing issues such as coaching and championship performances.
The growing success of trampoline clubs can also be seen from the turnout at a recent local competition in the UK.
Reports in the Wisbeach Standard show that 160 competitors from six different clubs turned out for the Fenland Flyers' second invitational last month.
