Trampoline centre is proving haven for play activities
02/07/2010 A sports centre in the US is attracting customers looking for fun play activities and it's all because of the humble trampoline.
Boing! Jump Center has 11,000 square feet of trampolines in its purpose-built centre, reports Tampa Bay Online.
Its owner and creator, Mike Canales, who got the idea from watching a fighter train, has seen custom quickly rise as the trampoline proves to be the hottest ticket in town.
Customers are literally bouncing off the walls.
Mike said Boing! had become a hot-spot for youngsters who had helped to "spread the word" on the trampoline buzz. "The last couple of months have been a bit craz," he told the news provider.
His wife Chrystal has even started running a trampoline aerobics class during the week.
The popularity of the centre is good news for health enthusiasts. A recent study by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that children who spend time taking part in sport or outdoor play activities are less likely to spend too much time in front of the TV.
The findings of the study were published in the journal Pediatrics.
