Trampoline champion to train with experts in Canada
19/04/2010 A trampoline star from Woolavington in Somerset is on her way to train with some world champion athletes thanks to supporters who voted for her to win a recent competition.
Laura Gallagher, 20, will be jetting off to Canada, where she will train with world-class athletes, including Olympic medallists Jason Burnett and Karen Cockburn, after winning a British Airways competition, reports This the West Country, which encouraged readers to vote for her.
The former world under-19 trampoline champion, who hopes to compete in the 2012 Olympics, told the newspaper: "I would really like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for me on the website - I obviously wouldn't be going without their support and votes."
Laura is currently back in training after a knee injury she suffered in February forced her to miss the European Championships.
She previously gave up the sport due to the pressure of being a champion, but made a comeback last year.
