Trampoline club awarded grant for new equipment
09/08/2010 Members of a trampoline club in Hertfordshire are jumping for joy having been given a grant to purchase new equipment.
Zenith Trampolining Club in Potters Bar was awarded the ?2,144 grant by Hertsmere Borough Council as part of a scheme to offer cash to local community and voluntary groups.
The club told the Welwyn Hatfield Times that the funds will be used to purchase a new trampoline bed and three safety mattresses.
Councillor Brenda Batten, portfolio holder with responsibility for grants, said: "There are many worthwhile groups out there which provide support and help to our residents, as well as activities and events.
"We appreciate that sometimes they need a helping hand and small grants like this can make a real difference."
A poll by Play England recently found that 81 per cent of parents believe that community spirit is improved when kids take part in outdoor play activities.
Groups looking to apply to the Hertsmere Borough Council for funding for up to ?3,000 for a one-off project can submit applications until Wednesday September 15th.
