Trampoline club celebrates success
03/11/2009 A trampoline club is celebrating after its members produced stellar performances at a Worcestershire Schools tournament.
Gymnasts from Stourport Trampoline Club topped off a great month for the club at Cocksmoors Woods Leisure Centre, reports the Kidderminister Shuttle.
Club members and local pupils from Chantry High School Taymar Pearce-Mason took the under-13s elite title for the second year in a row while Lily Crook finished third.
George Collingridge from Bewdley High School celebrated becoming the under-13 boys elite champion with two superb routines, while schoolmate Helen Watson took second in her event.
Meanwhile, in the junior section of the tournament, Franche Primary School's Katie Collingridge and Rebecca Watson from Far Forest Primary gained second and first place respectively.
The closed age competition was also a success for the club as gymnasts competed with the best in the West Midlands.
Stourport also excelled in the regional qualifiers to enjoy their best competition of the year.
This month will see the finest gymnasts in the world descend on St Petersburg for the Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships.
