Trampoline club nominated for awards
29/09/2010 A trampoline club in Gloucestershire has received nominations in a number of categories at a local sports awards.
Aspire Springers, which is open to youngsters both with and without disabilities, has seen members nominated in the Coach of the Year and Young Sports Personality of the Year categories, ThisIsGloucestershire reports.
It has also been recognised within the Senior Club of the Year section.
Pat Bailey, Gloucester City sports development manager, said that Aspire Springers is a "shining example" for other voluntary clubs.
"With Dawn Lawson, one of the country's Great Britain coaches at its helm, young athletes are able to reach their potential and beyond and have great hopes for 2012 and with the Commonwealth Games in 2014," she added.
Ms Lawson, who originally set up the club, has been nominated as the Coach of the Year.
Jumping on a trampoline is known to be a great source of cardiovascular exercise. Those who regularly exercise on a trampoline can also benefit from improved balance, muscle tone and coordination.
