Trampoline club raises money for Sport Relief
23/03/2010 Fundraisers in Gwent decided to use a trampoline to help with their Sport Relief efforts last week, the South Wales Argus Reports.
Parents, students and coaches from a Saturday morning trampoline club in the area bounced their Sport Relief mile on a trampoline, trampet, pogo stick or space hopper.
In total they completed over 7,000 bounces in just two hours and have so far managed to raise £150.
A number of parents at the event, which took place at the Fairwater Leisure Centre in Cwmbran, were taught short routines by the youngsters, with one father even attempting a somersault.
Other people in the area completed their Sport Relief Mile on a treadmill or on foot.
So far, the event has raised over £31,600,000. The total at the end of the event on Friday March 19th was £29,323,818 and money is still being donated.
All funds will go towards the Comic Relief charity, which helps disadvantaged children and families both in the UK and abroad.
