Trampoline coach heads to games for 33rd year
24/03/2010 Trampoline team manager Keith Sleafer has been dedicated to his sport for 33 years and shows no sign of stopping yet.
The News Shopper reports that Mr Sleafer was one of the original members of the Bexley trampoline club and travelled to the first London Youth Games in 1977. This year he will be taking the reins again as the team hopes to better their best ever finish.
Mr Sleafer told the newspaper that it took the club around 15 years to produce any results at the games. In 2009, they finished fourth overall in the trampoline team standings.
"I am asked each year if I am willing to continue and I've said 'yes please' each year. I just love it, it's a fantastic day," he explained, adding that "as long as they will have me, I am there for it".
The London Youth Games are open to any young person living or going to school in any of the capital's 33 boroughs.
Last year, over 45,000 youngsters took part in 60 competitions in 30 different sports.
