Trampoline coaching techniques to improve
10/02/2010 Standards of trampoline coaching in the UK could improve with the introduction of a new certificate.
The UK Coaching Certificate is intended to enhance the performance of coaches in all sports.
In a bulletin to trampoline coaches, British Gymnastics said that it is hoped the new scheme will help develop world class sport in the UK.
"It will ensure that new coaches have an understanding of teaching method and how to make coaching more pupil-centred," it explained.
The bulletin also said that it should also help coaches to better understand how to improve a pupil's technique.
Hopes are high that British trampoline athletes will be able to make an impact on the world stage in the coming years, particularly with London holding the Olympic Games in 2012.
This year will mark the first time that trampoline athletes have been able to compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sports Championships, which are taking place in Sheffield in April.
