Trampoline duo hoping to get Team USA nod
28/09/2009 Two teenage trampoline stars are crossing everything they have in the hope they will be picked for Team USA.
The gymnasts, from Victoria, have spent the weekend with the most talented athletes in the country at a selection event in Las Vegas which will determine who will make the team for the 26th World Championships in St Petersburg, Russia, reports the Victoria Advocate.
Joshua Bednorz and Angela Foster, both 14 and who are students at Memorial High School, will be given a rare opportunity to qualify for the USA Trampoline and the Double-Mini Junior National Team.
Bednorz qualified for the World Championships held in Quebec, Canada in 2007 and finished fifth in the synchronised trampoline and 26th in individuals.
"I thought I did pretty good at World Championships last time being that it was my first," Bednorz told the news provider.
He added that he had been inspired after seeing all of the incredible talent at the competition, and it had taught him how to prepare himself mentally.
