Trampoline enclosures 'important to avoid injury'
21/12/2009 The importance of purchasing a safety enclosure with your trampoline has been highlighted by trampolineguide.com.
According to the site, although many trampolines now come with padding around the edges it is no substitute for a proper safety net.
It said: "It is estimated that 80 per cent of the total injuries from trampoline use were caused from falling off. An enclosure is meant to prevent that very thing...It will provide a lot of safety and peace of mind for your family."
Parents were advised to ensure that the net is the right size and fitted properly so it is most effective. However, even with all the proper safety precautions in place it is essential that children are taught to play safely on a trampoline to avoid injury.
When trampolines are used properly they can provide a great source of fun for both adults and children and keep the whole family feeling fit and healthy. As well as proving a great cardio vascular work out, jumping on a trampoline improves balance and co ordination.
