Trampoline exercise: "A proper heart-racing work out"
20/01/2010 Jumping on a trampoline is a great way to get a fulfilling and effective workout as one writer from the News of the World recently found out.
Pheobe, who works as the web editor for Fabulous magazine, has been undertaking a fitness boot camp to try and shed some extra pounds in a short space of time and has been blogging about her experiences.
Part of the course has been to take part in rebounding classes, which involve jumping and exercising on a mini trampoline.
Despite getting off to a shaky start, Pheobe said she was "starting to develop a sneaking affection for rebound - it's really nice jumping on the trampoline because your joints are cushioned from jolting"
She added: "I do feel like I'm getting a proper, heart-racing, out-of-breath workout."
Trampolines provide a low impact workout because the trampoline pad absorbs up to 80 per cent of the force of your bounce. This reduces the risk of arthritis from regular exercise in comparison to high impact activities like jogging and running.
