Trampoline exercise 'great for busy mums'
22/03/2010 Trampoline exercise is ideal for busy mums who have little time for a fitness regime, according to one expert.
Anik Giguere-Biollo, mum of three and owner of stroller-advisor.com, said that as little as ten minutes of exercise per day can make a difference and mums should "be active whenever [they] can".
Among the suggestions for keeping fit were going up and down stairs a few times or dancing around to music with the children.
"At the park or during your kids' soccer practice, walk around instead of sitting down on a bench," she added.
Ms Giguere-Biollo also suggested making regular arrangements with a female friend to exercise or asking your partner to take over looking after the kids for a while so you can exercise during some quality 'me' time.
As well as helping you feel better about yourself and improving physical fitness, regular exercise helps combat diabetes.
Dr Victoria King, research manager at Diabetes UK, said that frequent exercise and a healthy lifestyle is the most effective way of preventing the onset of the disease.
