Trampoline exercise 'places less stress on bones'
21/05/2010 Jumping on a mini trampoline is a more effective form of exercise than running as it places less strain on the body, according to one blogger.
Writing for Albertam, Zafar explained that people who spend large amounts of time running or jogging can end up with problems with their joints, due to the shock they are required to absorb from the weight of the body hitting a hard surface.
In contrast, jumping on a trampoline is a very low-impact exercise, as most of the force from the bounce is absorbed by the trampoline pad.
"Also, the G-Force measured at your ankles, back and forehead is more equally distributed when you bounce, compared to floor exercise where your ankle joints take more than twice the impact of your lower back or head," the blog explained.
Trampoline exercise also provides all the benefits of a cardiovascular workout, while improving balance and co-ordination.
That's Fit writer Amber Greviskes highlighted recently that the low-impact nature of trampoline exercise makes it ideal for those who are recovering from injury or just starting a new fitness drive.
