Trampoline exercise 'strengthens every cell in the body'
22/03/2011 Families looking for the best ways to enjoy exercising outdoors should consider buying trampolines for the garden online, as 'rebound' workouts strengthen "every cell in the body".
This is according to Yahoo! health expert Debbie Nicholson, who this week outlined the benefits of outdoor play with trampolines.
She explained how exercising outdoors on a garden trampoline strengthens bones, ligaments, muscles and tendons, as well as promoting "all-over body wellness".
"It is 68 per cent more effective than regular types of exercise," Ms Nicholson said, before adding that trampoline workouts can also increase your white blood cell count, boosting the immune system.
In addition, trampolines for the garden are often seen as a great way to get the kids exercising outdoors.
Earlier this month, a survey conducted by new campaign Parents for Playgrounds found that 90 per cent of parents would like their children to engage in more outdoor play activities.
