Trampoline exercise great for body and soul
02/07/2010 Trampoline exercise is beneficial for the body as well as the mind, according to the United States Trampoline and Tumbling Association.
Trampoline exercise is euphoric, uninhibited and exercises key areas of the body.
The association's Patti Lingenfelter told the Herald News the urge to jump on a trampoline satisfied a primal desire.
"Everybody likes to jump," she said. "Everyone jumps on their bed when they're young. Babies jump in their cribs."
Experts think trampoline exercise is one of the best ways of improving the body's condition.
Fitness expert Tony Gallagher praised the benefits of outdoor play and said the trampoline was even used by Nasa to train its astronauts.
Giving advice in the Daily Telegraph, he said that when you bounce in the air you reach a weightless state, then landing achieves twice the force of gravity on each bounce. This shift in gravity is believed to benefit muscles, cells and the lymph system.
But let's not forget about the fun element: "Whatever the science, everybody I know loves bouncing on a trampoline," he said.
