Trampoline exercise helping injured skier return
29/06/2010 Exercising on a trampoline is helping one ski icon become fit for the slopes again after suffering serious injury.
Tanner Hall has won medals at the X-Games and launched his own ski company, however was injured in Spring 2009 after failing to land a jump, The Ski Channel reports.
The extent of Hall's injuries, which included fractures to both tibial plateaus, led some to believe that his skiing career was over.
However, Hall is expected to return to the slopes in July and is using the trampoline in his final stages of training.
The news provider said that for the first time in two years the skier is jumping on a trampoline in an effort to "get some of his legendary aerial awareness back".
Jumping on a trampoline is often recommended for skiers and snowboarders as a way of practicing trips before attempting them on the snow, as trampoline exercise enhances balance, coordination and motor skills, as well as improving overall fitness levels.
