Trampoline exercise named as fitness trend
26/04/2010 Trampoline exercise is emerging as a top fitness trend, according to one expert.
Speaking to the Boston Globe, experienced aerobics instructor Jaimie Adler-Palter named rebounding, another term for jumping on a mini trampoline, as a hot exercise trend.
She is currently brushing up her trampoline skills so she can start teaching rebounding classes.
"Rebounding is easy on the joints, because the soft surface absorbs the shock, and you develop balance and coordination," Ms Adler-Palter told the news provider.
Trampoline exercise is also known to stimulate the lymphatic system, which helps remove toxins from the body and filters the blood. As the system is not controlled by an organ it relies on gravity and body movement to work.
Last week, the Smart Dads blog recommended that parents try their hand at jumping on a trampoline with their kids as a way to lose weight and have fun.
It suggested that those who don't have enough room for a 12ft or 14ft garden trampoline invest in a mini trampoline and keep it inside the house.
