Trampoline fitness 'popular with holidaymakers'
07/12/2010 Families looking to get more out of their time abroad are increasingly turning to fitness holidays, which could include exercising outdoors with trampolines, an expert has suggested.
Celebrity fitness trainer Steve Halsall said that the family fitness holiday, incorporating outdoor play activities and trampolines, would be "here to stay" because modern households are so short of time.
"Because there is so much on offer it is no longer the case of going on holiday and putting a few pounds on. People can actually come away from holiday having had a great time, probably lost weight and learnt something on the way," he explained.
Mr Halsall added that active holidays could have long-lasting benefits, as families return home having learnt new ways to stay healthy and often manage to keep up their new lifestyle.
Last month, the My Kids Health blog explained how increasing numbers of British children had been enjoying the benefits of outdoor play, as more parents buy trampolines for the garden to encourage an active lifestyle.
