Trampoline marathon helps raise money for Heart Research UK
13/12/2010 A Bradford man has raised money for Heart Research UK by organising and taking part in a trampoline marathon.
The Telegraph and Argus reported that Peter Maggs set himself the challenge of completing 100 summersaults in under one hour.
He decided to undertake the fundraising initiative after the charity visited Bradford College, where he works as an IT specialist, according to the news source.
Mr Maggs suffered a heart attack in 1989 and decided to help Heart Research UK by raising awareness of how cardiac problems can be prevented.
"I wanted to raise more than £300, but my main aim was just to raise awareness of heart problems over a period in the year when a lot of people are eating and drinking an unhealthy amount," he said.
Barbara Harpham, national director of the charity, said that she was delighted by Mr Maggs' trampoline fundraiser.
In October, money was raised for a resource centre in Grimsby through a trampoline event.
