Trampoline pair look forward to World Age Games
22/10/2009 Two trampoline stars are looking ahead to the World Age Group Games and are hoping to return to the US with medals.
As tumbling and mini-trampoline are yet to be included in the Olympics, next month's World Age Group Games will give gymnasts the platform to compete against the best in the world, reports tmcnet.
The games, which will be held between November 14th and November 22nd in St Petersburg, Russia, will see Alex Renkert competing in both tumbling and the double-mini trampoline events and Sonia Shah also competing in the double-mini trampoline.
Shawn Moore, Renkert's coach at InterActive Academy, told the news provider: "This is what our athletes work for all their lives."
He added that he was immensely proud of Sonia and Alex.
Mr Moore said: "They are two of the best kids I have ever had the privilege of coaching. I am proud of what they have accomplished in their careers."
Renkert is currently ranked number one among the US Junior Elite Men on double-mini trampoline and second on tumbling.
The World Age Group Games run concurrently with the World Trampoline Championships.
