Trampoline star aims to set the record straight
11/11/2009 After his heart was broken in the run up to the Beijing Olympics, Israel's Konstantin Miroshnikov is looking to set the record straight in St Petersburg.
Miroshnikov was devastated when his Olympic dreams were shattered at the Trampoline World Championships in Quebec in 2007 after he performed a technically difficult exercise and made one minor mistake, reports Haaretz.
Lacking serious funding for this Olympic sport, Miroshnikov says that after the failure, he wanted to throw the towel in.
But following some soul searching, the Israeli is looking for gold in Russia.
Miroshnikov says he sees the trip to Russia, where a top 16 finish would set him on his way toward the London 2012 Olympics, as a chance to redeem himself for his miscue in Canada.
"Improving is fun and interesting, but it's not enough," he told the news provider.
The qualification round in men's and women's individual trampoline kicked off at 11:20 GMT today (November 11th), reports Acrobaticsports.com.
