Trampoline star comes back from injury to take on the world
27/10/2009 After quitting the sport before he was ten, a gymnast is now ready to take on the world after getting back on the trampoline.
Cody Farabee, who was an early starter in gymnastics aged only three, suffered an injury and was forced to quit the sport, but now he is back, and stronger than ever, reports 12 news.
He is to become the first teenager from Arizona in the US to compete in the Junior World Championships.
Farabee will fly with the rest of the team to St Petersburg next month to make a piece of history.
The games run concurrently with the 26th Trampoline World Championships, the first of which was held in London in 1964.
According to his coach, John Black, his preparations in other practice events ahead of the games have been perfect.
Speaking to the news provider Mr Black recalled when he first met Cody: "I thought he had potential, but I did not think he was going to be an elite athlete by any means, he was rough, really rough."
He added that it was not until Cody fully dedicated himself to the sport and trained six times a week when things started to move forward.
