Trampoline star needs to raise ?2,000
13/08/2009 Emma Smith is celebrating after being selected to represent Great Britain in Trampoline at the World Age Group Games in November.
The 17-year-old is set to head to St Petersburg, Russia, for the 26th World Games, but as the event is self funding, she will need to raise around £1,800 to attend, reports the Runcorn and Widnes Daily News.
Earlier this year, to boost her credentials and learn new skills, Emma spend some time training in Moscow with the legendary Russian Trampoline Team.
The 2012 Olympic hopeful is a member of her hometown club Aerodynamic at Kingsway Leisure Centre, Widnes.
Winner of the 2008 European Junior Championship in Denmark, she last month took a superb third place in the senior ladies' event in the British Championships at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena.
Ms Smith was the youngest competitor in the field and the podium finish was a tremendous achievement as earlier this year she had a stress fracture of the fibula.
