Trampoline star scoops silver medal
02/06/2010 Trampoline star Abbey Boyle has recently taken second place at the British Trampoline Gala, marking her out as one of the best trampolinists in the country.
The 13-year-old is now preparing to show off her bouncing ability at two more regional events before heading to the national trampoline championships in Birmingham in July, reports the Star.
Speaking to the newspaper, Frances Lee, a spokeswoman for Edlington's Sir Thomas Wharton Community College, which Abbey attends, said: "Both her routines went extremely well which left her in first place for most of the day."
However, she was pushed into second place during the voluntary routines when another competitor performed a slightly more complex routine.
Abbey originally turned to trampolining after a coach spotted her warming up for a gymnastics class and thought she had natural talent.
Another trampoline enthusiast who won a trophy recently was 11-year-old Hannah Bird from Burnham-on-Sea, who came out on top in the recent South West Regional Grading Competition, reports Burnham-on-sea.com.
