Trampoline star travels 38 hours to get to competition
22/04/2010 A 13-year-old trampoline star is set to make a 76-hour round trip to compete in the European Championships.
Pamela Clark of St Leonards will be heading to Bulgaria this weekend in a bid to earn a gold medal, however, her trip will take slightly longer than planned due to the travel chaos caused by volcanic ash, reports the East Kilbride News.
The youngster, along with her GB team mates, made a 38-hour 2,000 mile trip from Liverpool to Varna earlier this week, arriving on Tuesday.
Speaking to the newspaper, Pamela's dad Robert said: "Pamela is the only one from the town going and I hope it doesn't affect her too much. She won silver at the World Championships last year and she is hoping she can go one better at the Europeans."
This year's event is the 22nd European Championships and will see 591 gymnasts from 20 nations competing in trampoline, tumbling and double mini-tramp.
