Trampoline star wins award for dedication to sport
28/10/2009 A disabled trampoline academy student was recently rewarded for her exceptional dedication to the sport.
Rachel Tullett was given a top prize in the junior disabled category at the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Sports Awards.
"This is the culmination of a year of hard work which has seen me win a place in the Gymnastics and Movement for People with a Disability national development squad, as well as winning a silver medal at the British college's sport national event," she said on receiving the accolade.
Two other trampoline stars were also recognised on the night. Twin brothers Andrew and Michael Freeman, members of Kingston College's Trampoline Academy, scooped the Jeremy Jellinek Award which is given to people who have put something back into their sports club or community.
Sarah Silvester, the Trampoline Academy director, said that she was very proud of the three award winners.
Earlier this month, members of the Nantwich-based trampoline club Aerodynamic celebrated winning their own awards after proving victorious in five events at the regional championships, reports the Crewe Chronicle.
