Trampoline success for Radcliffe girls
10/09/2009 Three girls from Radcliffe in Bury are celebrating after being selected for the Great Britain trampoline squad.
Sisters Nicole and Natasha Short, together with Sasha Carter, will travel to St Petersburg in Russia in November to take part in the 26th World Trampoline Championships, reports Bury News.
Nicole, aged 15, and 16-year-old Sasha will make up half of the Great Britain squad to compete in the 15-16 group, while 13-year-old Natasha will compete in the 13-14 category.
Although the teenagers will have to raise £1,900 each to meet travel expenses, they are hoping to get support through fundraising events.
June Short, who has run the Bury Trampoline Club for the past 25 years, is delighted about her daughters' achievement.
"My two daughters are members of the City of Liverpool Trampoline Club and go there five times a week to train. Unfortunately, they can't achieve the same level of training of at the Bury club," Ms Short told the news provider.
