Trampoline vandals offer to pay for damage they caused
23/04/2010 A group of youngsters who damaged a trampoline and swing set at their local playgroup's play area have offered to pay for the damage so other children will have a location for their outdoor play activities.
The seven youngsters, all aged between 11 and 13, ripped apart the trampoline and swing set at the Blackrod Community Playgroup last weekend, reports This is Lancashire.
However, they later felt guilty after reading about the impact of their destruction in the Bolton News and visited the playgroup's owner to apologise.
"I couldn't believe it when they said 'We did it and we are very, very sorry'," Carole Bell told the news provider.
"I must admit I was pleased that they came forward because at least we are going to get a positive result out of it."
The kids will now pay for the damage out of their pocket money and help clean up rubbish from the play area.
Earlier this month, parents and children in Carlisle were reassured that the areas in the city for outdoor play activities will be kept open, reported the News and Star.
