Trampolines 'benefit children with autism'
09/12/2009 Trampolines are great for children with autism, according to the writer of one trampoline blog.
Children with autism often experience problems socialising with those around them and have issues with balance, both of which could be improved through exercise on a trampoline.
According to trampolinesblog.com: "Tests have shown that jumping on the trampoline has positive benefits for children with autism."
The writer adds that "jumping regularly on the trampoline can provide excellent awareness of ones body positions and improve how the body responds to movement through space".
Exercising on a trampoline also has many benefits for children without autism.
It is recommended that kids take part in one hour of physical activity each day. However, figures from the British Heart Foundation reveal that only 11 per cent of children actually achieve this.
Putting a trampoline in your back garden is one way to ensure that your children get up from in front of the TV and head outside to do some exercise. Improved self confidence and self image, co ordination and balance are just some of the benefits which bouncing on a trampoline provides.
