Trampolines 'great for snowboarders'
15/12/2009 Trampolines have been named one of the top pieces of exercise equipment for snowboarders to use in the summer months.
According to Leisure Knowledge, snowboard tricks should first be attempted on a trampoline to get used to the feeling of your body position in the air.
To start with, Leisure Knowledge recommends concentrating on "how you are timing the jump and your body's orientation in the air" before progressing on to more difficult tricks.
Trampolines can also be used as a training aid for attempting spins before heading out on to the slopes. Boarders should pay attention to details such as their head position, orientation, wind up and landing to ensure that the practice is most effective.
The blog said: "In any rotation trick in snowboarding you can expect to be flying blindly through the air at some point. Practicing those in-air aspects on the trampoline eliminates a lot of that guesswork leaving only your approach up the transition to figure out."
However as well as providing training for snowboard tricks, trampolines also exercise the body's core muscles and improve balance, which be of benefit to snowboarders of all standards.
