Trampolines 'help most sportsmen'
09/11/2009 Using a mini-trampoline, or rebounding as it seems to be known these days, can help people from across the sporting spectrum, according to experts.
Instructors from Power Play Fitness in Dallas have been telling CBS3 how rebounding exercises work.
"It's plyometrics," explained instructor Veronica Hudgell. "It's a lot of core, glutes, quad, handsprings, shoulders and an overall body workout."
The instructor added that rebounding can provide a cardio and strength-building workout.
Visitors to the gym have been feeling the benefits. "I've really noticed it helps so much more with my stomach and getting those muscles just strengthened," class member Mary Griffiths told the news provider.
Dallas chiropractor Dr James Denito says many sportsmen use the mini-trampoline in their routines, regardless of what sport they compete in.
He said: "We might have an athlete; whose in volleyball for instance, practice their jumps. We might have a sprinter practice aggressive sprinting techniques."
Exercising with a trampoline is a low-impact workout and can help the lymphatic system, according to fitmoves.com.
