Trampolines are a 'hot toy for summer'
28/04/2010 While the summer may still seem a long way off, trampolines have been named as one of the top toys for the sunnier months by the US-based store Kmart.
According to the shop, parents looking to keep their kids entertained during the school holidays should start looking for outdoor play equipment now.
It named a 12-foot trampoline on its Hot Eight toy list. Other items on the list included a water slide and a miniature golf set.
However, jumping on a trampoline is not just a great activity for children; parents can gain many benefits from it too.
Trampoline exercise is known to improve muscle tone, balance and coordination, as well as providing a good aerobic workout. It also stimulates the lymphatic system, which helps rid the body of toxins.
US TV presenter and mum-of-four Brooke Burke revealed last month that trampoline exercise was part of her fitness regime which helped her lose the 25 to 30 pounds she gained with each pregnancy.
