Trampolines are not just for kids
16/04/2010 More adults are investing in home gyms and games rooms, with features like trampolines, the Daily Mail reports.
The newspaper said that playrooms are no longer the preserve of the young and it's not just luxury homes which are being equipped.
Features that are hiding behind closed doors include squash courts, climbing walls and even simulated golf courses.
One grade two listed property near Lincoln comes fully equipped with a home gym and trampoline in the basement.
Adrian Overington, of Kinleigh, Folkard & Hayward, told the news provider that the trend is particularly prevalent in homes worth £500,000 or more.
"People are becoming more health-conscious and working longer hours. It makes sense for them to have gyms in their homes," he added.
Trampoline exercise is known to have a number of benefits, including improved balance, coordination and muscle tone.
The motion created by jumping on the trampoline stimulates the lymphatic system, the part of the body which filters the blood and helps remove toxins.
