Trampolines for youngsters at summer camp
25/08/2009 Youngsters will be able to experience the joys of a trampoline after a summer camp decided to add it to its list of activities.
The summer camp in Moorclose, Workington is already in full swing and sessions have been taking place at Workington Leisure Centre and Newlands Lane South throughout the school holidays, reports the Times and Star.
Youngsters can also take part in including football, athletics and basketball, but the trampoline has been far and away the favourite activity.
Around 20 kids have been jumping for joy on the trampoline this week and coach Roger Gambles said that the younger age group have been learning co-ordination before progressing to simple moves.
He said: "It's a case of going through all the moves and teaching them to be safe, so if they are coming towards the sides, then they know what to do."
The youngsters, aged between seven and 13, were also able to work towards certificates and badges as part of the four-day course.
