Trampolines part of new ?2.8m university gym
06/01/2011 Work is set to begin this month on a £2.8 million Olympic gymnastics centre at the University of East Anglia, in Norfolk, with trampolines just one example of the features it will include.
According to the BBC, the centre will have pits for vaulting, a high bar, tumble rack, floor area and a ground-level trampoline.
It will also feature several viewing areas, with the option for future event organisers to bring in additional seating when large crowds are in attendance.
Keith Nicholls, director of Sportspark, the firm behind the development, told the broadcaster that "hundreds of children" in the area were waiting to get involved with gymnastics as a hobby.
"A director of gymnastics will be appointed, whose role it will be to develop a programme of foundation level gymnastics," he added.
Meanwhile, the Good Going blog has urged families to buy trampolines for the garden, which promise to make exercising outdoors "less work and much more fun".
