Trampolines promoted at wellbeing day
23/10/2009 A Hampshire-based charity is hosting a wellbeing day next week which will see Fareham residents trying out new ways to get fit, including using air walkers, hula hoops and mini-trampolines.
Mind Your Body will take place on October 28th with the aim of showing people that exercise is one of the best ways they can improve both their physical and mental wellbeing.
After trying out the aerobic steppers, exercise bikes and trampolines, members of the public will be given the chance to bid on the items in an auction, reports the Portsmouth News.
The event, which is being organised by mental health charity Mind, Fareham & Gosport, and the Hampshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will also feature a healthy cafe and fitness organisations promoting various ways to exercise.
Jenny Kingsbury from the trust told the newspaper: "There is no doubt that participating in regular exercise benefits our mental health as well as our physical health."
Fun exercise equipment such as mini-trampolines are increasingly coming to the attention of fitness enthusiasts looking for a way to inject some excitement into their workouts.
Commentators have also praised the fact that they allow people to exercise in the comfort of their own home and are cheaper than a pricey gym membership.
