Trampolines used to raise money for charity
25/11/2009 Pupils at a school in West Berkshire took part in a sponsored trampoline bounce for charity, reports Newbury Today.
The event saw kids jumping around on trampolines to raise money for disadvantaged children, while having fun and keeping fit at the same time.
It was held at Trinity School in Shaw and the funds which were collected are going towards buying sports equipment in South Africa and to the charity Children in Need.
One of the girls who organised the event, 17-year-old Katy Birch, told the newspaper that they hoped to raise £800 from their sponsored trampoline bounce to be split between the two causes.
A group of pupils from the school will also be going to South Africa in February to act as ambassadors for the school and see how the money is being spent.
So far over £20 million has been raised for the Children in Need throughout the UK.
However bouncing around on a trampoline isn't just good for raising money. It has significant health benefits; including increased strength, co-ordination and balance and encourages kids to get outdoors and get active.
