Trampolining 'helps improve coordination'
23/07/2009 Trampolining is popular with many athletes and gymnasts because the activity helps improve coordination, it has been suggested.
Work psychology and stress relief expert John Furnem told familyrapp.com that jumping on an outdoor trampoline is about much more than simply bouncing up and down, as there is some level of skill involved in reaching a good height and landing in the right way.
Mr Furnem noted: "The mere task of getting the hang of the trampoline is a challenge, although it may take some time, once you get the trampoline basics in your blood, you will be addicted to it, and to the constant improvement in your workout.
"As you learn to master the trampoline, you will probably get higher and more energy efficient while on the trampoline."
Earlier this month, health commentator Michael Russell claimed the g-force exerted on the body by the bouncing motion of a trampoline helps to get rid of toxins.
