University trampoline club holds fundraiser
19/01/2010 Students from the University of Worcester bounced on trampolines for 24 hours to raise money for new equipment, reports the Worcester News.
In total the club raised £450 from its sponsored bounce-a-thon, which will be spent on a new trampoline and crash mats.
Hayley Parker, chairman of the trampoline club, told the newspaper: "It has been a really fun event with everyone getting in the spirit and giving it their all. We had lots of fun and games, even playing badminton on the trampolines."
The trampoline club were joined in their efforts by members of the badminton club, who were raising money for the County Air Ambulance.
Both groups' efforts were praised by the Worcester Student's Union, which said it plans to do more similar events in the future.
Trampoline clubs across the country have also been celebrating recently with the news that a trampoline event will be held at this year's British Universities and Colleges Sport Championships for the first time.
