US celebrates trampoline success
08/09/2009 The US gymnastic team are celebrating after one of their biggest hopes for World Championship gold in St Petersburg came up trumps.
Team USA's Kalon Ludvigson from Idaho walked away with the men's tumbling silver medal at the World Cup in Zielona Gora, Poland last week.
On Saturday, Ludvigson's captured his second World Cup silver in two weeks.
Meanwhile, in the men's synchronized trampoline, the duo of Steven Gluckstein of New Jersey and Logan Dooley from California finished just off the awards podium in fourth place.
Earlier in the session, Gluckstein was eighth in men's trampoline.
In women's synchronized trampoline, Alaina Williams of Atlanta and Nani Vercruyssen of Hawaii were placed seventh in the finals.
The World Cup format featured a preliminary round, with the top eight gymnasts advancing to the finals, but a maximum of two individuals or one pair per country could advance in the final
