Weight conscious mums could benefit from exercising outdoors
10/02/2010 Exercising outdoors could help new mums drop the extra pounds they feel under pressure to lose.
A new survey by Mothercare has found that half of mothers feel pressured to drop their baby weight after giving birth, much like Hollywood mums.
Celebrity parents Heidi Klum and Liv Tyler have both admitted recently that jumping up and down on a trampoline or bouncy castle helps them to keep in shape.
Trampoline exercise is also part of the exercise routine of burlesque star Dita Von Teese.
Results from the survey also revealed that it takes a new mother an average of 14 months to lose the weight gained during pregnancy, which typically stands at 30 pounds.
Trampoline exercise could be ideal for time-strapped mums as it is an extremely efficient form of physical activity.
Councillor Brian Rolfe, who is responsible for sport and leisure in Epping Forest, told This is London recently: "Studies show that trampolining is 68 per cent more effective than running and out-performs swimming as an all round exercise, yet requires a lot less effort."
