World record trampoline attempt

23/09/2009
A team of volunteers in Australia are to make a world record attempt on the trampoline.

More than 300 people are to try to break the world record for the largest number of trampoline jumpers, reports west-side news.

Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, could find itself bouncing into the Guinness Book of Records if all goes to plan.

Pure Health Clubs has organised the event in October to highlight the importance of an active lifestyle.

Using a mini trampolines or 'rebounding', according to NASA, is "the most efficient and effective form of exercise ever devised".

The world record attempt will also raise money for the Asthma Foundation of Queensland.

In the challenge, all participants must simultaneously jump on their mini-trampolines for a minimum of five minutes.

"I am absolutely addicted, it's a lot of fun," Brooke Cunningham of Graceville told the news provider as she got into training.

She added that the challenge was also good for her health as "It also burns a whole lot of calories".
