30/09/2009
A young trampoline star is delighted after he was included in the Great Britain trampoline squad ahead of the World Age Group Championships in St Petersburg in November.

It comes as further good news for Daniel Fawcett, after the South Shields youngster was crowned the under-15 national champion at the Birmingham National Indoor Arena earlier in the month, reports the Chronicle.

The young champion began his fledgling trampoline career when he was nine.

Fawcett has been competing at the top level for three seasons now, and last year he was called up to the Great Britain squad for an international meeting against Germany, and will once again feature this year.

A member of the South Tyneside Gym Club, Fawcett will have to up his game after the World Age Group Championships as he will be competing at under-19 level.

His mum told the news provider: "Daniel is working on a harder difficulty, trying to get a triple somersault, and is training as much as he can."
