Youngsters trampoline for circus skills day
18/08/2009 Being taught circus skills gave young people in Billingham the chance to clown around yesterday (August 18th).
The event was part of a wealth of fun activities, including trampolining and skateboarding, being run in the town to entertain children over the summer, reports the Middlesbrough Gazette.
Next Monday the event is scheduled to go ahead again in the town.
Steve Cousins, from Australia, taught circus skills in the town centre and said the response was very enthusiastic.
"It's a bit of a shame we're only here for two weeks, but a lot of kids have taken part," he told the news provider. "It's been fantastic."
Joanne Emmerson, of Billingham Trampoline Club, said the free event was a great opportunity to offer trampolining to the kids in the area.
She said: "Because I'm from Billingham I'm very keen to promote the sport in the town," adding: "It's all supervised by our coaches. It's been really busy."
The Billingham Trampoline Club meets regularly through the week at Billingham Campus Sports Centre.
